About this tool
Government portals, job applications and university admissions often reject photos larger than 20KB, 50KB or 100KB. Target size mode searches for the highest quality that still fits under your limit. If quality alone is not enough, it gently reduces the dimensions until the image fits.
Quality mode gives you direct control. A setting around 70-80% usually cuts file size by more than half with no visible difference. Output is saved as JPG (best for photos) or WebP (smaller still, supported by all modern browsers).
Transparent areas in PNG images become white when saved as JPG. Everything happens on your device, so photos and signatures are never uploaded.
Questions and answers
How do I compress a photo to under 50KB?
Choose Target size, type 50 in the KB box and press Compress. The tool finds the best quality that fits under 50KB and shows the final size before you download.
Why did my image get smaller in dimensions?
If even low quality cannot reach your target, the tool reduces width and height step by step. Very small targets (like 10KB for a large photo) need this to succeed.
Does compression remove EXIF data?
Yes. Re-encoding the image drops camera metadata such as GPS location, which is a nice privacy bonus.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes. Select multiple files and they are all compressed with the same settings, then download them together as a ZIP.
